Hi there

The specs for the iPhone 3G S state UMTS/HSDPA in 850, 1900, 2100 MHz only, and not the 900 3G that Vodafone has chosen for 3G Extended coverage in New Zealand.

Will there be a New Zealand version that uses 900 3G so that it's fast outside the cities?

Thanks

Good question. The rumours of a 900 MHz version were strong, but there was no confirmation during the Apple keynote, and nothing on the technical specifications page yet.

There's no news about this out there - yet.

Short answer: no. The frequencies supported are the same as the iPhone 3G.

Looks like NO 900mhz WCDMA for the new iphone 3G

The new Android google phone is 900/2100 WCDMA
