Hi All,

I had a new VFX connection  setup on Sunday. I have just moved into the place and the phone line has been disconnected there for months. Everything was going great, I had a really good connection for all of sunday night and it was still working when I left for work at 6:30am yesterday. However where I got home last night the interface was down, and the router appears as though it has no DSL connection at all, just like it did before the connection was, well, connected.

I rang up Xnet and they told me that the connection was not officially finished by Telecom, and that they couldnt put through a support request for it until this had happened. This is all fine and understandable, but I'm not entirely sure why the connection would work fine and then stop working after a day unless someone got into work on Monday and decided to do something that cut my connection.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem? I know that I should wait till the end of the day to see if its back up and working but I would like to have a list of things to try if its not when I get home tonight. I am almost positive none of the flat mates would have plugged anything into the phone lines seeing as they havent had one for months (unfortunately I dont get to see them often and there are jacks in there rooms so I cant check myself).
