Hi,

I'm on TCL cable in Wellington and I can't get through to the www.telstraclear.co.nz website.  Is anyone else affected?  I get a 404.

Their secure https website seems to be OK for me and I get weird results when going to telstraclear.co.nz.

Thanks

It seems they're doing some major changes.  The customer zone part of the web-site is all new and you can create a profile, link to your paradise/clear email and check your usage, view bills, etc. all from one portal.

Wonder if this is anything to do with the thing at Te Papa tomorrow???

I just tried to open the usage meter and ran into the same problem. Good to know that it's not just me :)

Maybe related - webmail is redirecting to https://sso.clear.net.nz/clearnet-webmail/login which gives various browser warnings. I'm reluctant to tap in my username and password because of those warnings. Anyone know if this is legit?

I can no longer get into the usage meter; it asks me to set up an account (it used to ask for my login and password), and then rejects my password when I attempt to do so. Has anyone else tried to use it yet?

I created a username/password and that worked ok and I can see my bills and email, but the usage meter doesn't work for me either.

EDIT:  Main site seems to be up now.

Yup, it was down for the implementation of the new Customer Zone service.

You can login with your account number & password or alternatively you can create a username/password combination (you do this after logging in using your account number).

The password is the same password you would have previously used to log in to the Cable & DSL usage meters.

If I enter account number and password then it says my details are wrong. If I use my "full" username (user@dsl.clear.net.nz) and password then it says they're wrong. If I use the "short" username and password then it says there was an error while logging in (it doesn't say that the details are wrong).

Call Customer Care and see if the password is the same as what you're trying to enter. 0508 888 800

While it's good they are improving the usage meter and parts of the site (because some of it is epic slow) the change in the login id and needing to create profiles seems retarded.

If you mouse over the ? next to user id right at the bottom in the tooltip it tells you to remove the .dsl from the username/id ok so change the login id from [you]@dsl.clear.net.nz to [you]@clear.net.nz ok

Cool can I see my usage meter now, um nope.  I need to create a new profile...

So it prompts you to create a new profle, huh why would I want to do this, my details haven't changed and I have no interest in having multiple profiles.. oh and in the account number field it has pre populated that field with [you]@dsl.clear.net.nz odd!

Not a well convieved change imo

Aha! Thanks Ragnor, I didn't notice that and it's working now without the dsl part.

Edit: Actually, it logs me in but doesn't show my usage. All I have is email, change password, and "self service".

Yeah same I created a new profile like prompted but I can't log in with it.

Internet performance is good on Telstra but this type of annoying crap + the internode gaming servers routing problem + their retarded charging model (eg: pay for 4x 10GB packs if you use 31GB) is pushing me towards changing to Telecom.

Ok you have to validate the new profile account by waiting for the validation email then clicking on link in the email.  However to create this new profile account in the first place I had to be logged my original telstra account login, why am I having to go though validation hoops?

Did they design this to be an unfriendly to existing customers as possible?

I managed to (re?) register, and got some VIP crap email about shopping. However the link doesn't work, although it may or may not be blocked in my hosts file (I don't really care enough to look! If it is listed there, then it's been added by www.mvps.org for a reason).

All I want to do is check my cable usage...

I've set up a profile, but when I check my usage I get this message:

Sorry, you are not authorised to access this information for this account

Interesting that I can now see specail notes on my account such as DO NOT SUSPEND ACCOUNT DUE TO ONGOING DiSPUTE.. hehe that particular dispute was from about six years.

I was hoping that TelstraClear would improve and simplify useage meter access, not make it more complex.
