I'm about to move from Telecom to TelstraClear - I've got one of the Thomson TG585 wireless modems that Telecom use, but I'm not sure whether this is going to be cable-compliant and usable with TelstraClear.  Does anyone know?

Also, from talking to TelstraClear last night, they still have no pricing or dates for HomeMedia...

The Thomson will not work with TCL cable. It lacks a WAN port.

Get a Asus WL-520GU (about $80-90) and flash it with great open source firmware like Tomato or DD-WRT, it's easier than it sounds and gives you a ton of features and good performance.

Note: Note don't get a GC as it has way less flash memory than the GU

If you want gigabit lan and wireless N then I would have a look at the Asus RT-N16 (~$210).
