Does anyone know of any good dual band wireless n routers on the market which I can plug my regular old cordless phone into for use with VFX? I'm just kinda sick of using an ATA.

Something like a WAG310G, but with n. and dual band. yep.

There is a new device in the pipeline, with N support hopefully due for release within the next couple of months.... step up from the WAG310 and a nice box... requires PTC certification before release

maverick: requires PTC certification before release

PTC certification is required for selling it, and is required to guarantee compatibility with the Telecom phone lines etc. But suppose someone was to obtain one of these new boxes in another country and just tell you we now have one, will you enable it's use? I'm thinking for example if the customer is on Woosh wireless or on a cable modem or travelling overseas with his new box or whatever reason why it is not connected directly to Telecom wiring so does not require PTC certification.

Can't understand why they can't just adopt an IEC standard and not require local certification for a country where you might sell 10 000 units if you are lucky.

It's just a requirement that any telephony device in NZ requires PTC certification. Even if it's not directly connected to a Telecom line it's still required to meet certain requirements in terms of audio levels etc.

As Steve said Niel, I agree with some aspects of it, nothing to stop you using overseas devices... product is the SRP52X series , been testing a couple of months on the beta program...

I'm an electronic engineer and at work we deal all the time with standards. Usually NZ copies an IEC standard and makes small changes which means you must submit your product locally for qualification. Keeps the cash flowing, but frustrating.

Maverick, can't find any product page for the SRP52X series. I'm curious...

EDIT: Wow, the wep site design changed when I've posted this, was still the old style when I was typing. Got caught by surprise.

Very nice box actually, totally brand new ....you may find some info on Cisco for SRP521, the ADSL version is the 527 , VPN, Wireless N , multi VLAN support for both wireless and Lan , price range will be very close to the WAG310, this is classed a Small Business product but will be a great router for home use as well.
