Today our TC cablre internet connection abruptly stopped working.

TC tech support told me it had been automatically suspended because they had detected "virus traffic" on the connection. However he couldn;t explain what this traffic was or how it had been detected.

Has anyone else run across this or know what';s going on here?

Actually could be for a couple of things maybe, possibly they have picked up SPAM originating from your connection or received a complaint about inappropriate traffic originating from an IP and tracked it back to your connection, both of these types of complaints could cause an auto suspension of accounts bu an ISP, Generally though there should be account notes to that effect.

Yep, I was "shut down" a couple of years ago for a similar reason. My account had been "compromised" and spam was being sent. Can't say I noticed any additional traffic going out, nor anything else weird happening. Thing is, they never actually notified me - I had to ring faults because my connection was dead, and that's when I found out Surprised

They changed my passwords and re-enabled the connection.
