Hiya,

I just purchased a new phone for my Telecom XT (Sony Ericsson W995) and have put my Vodafone Sim into my old Telecom XT (Sony Ericsson W705) everything to do with calling/txting etc works fine,

But the internet and the inbuilt number for calling voicemail is still stuck with telecom,

How have you guys got around this?

I rang the Vodafone Technical team and they told me the store can update the software, (0800 921 021) But it seemed the guy just wanted to fob me off.

Is there a software update that will change the tworld to vlive, the voicemail number etc across like the iPhone has?

Vodafone NZ provides no official support for imported devices

Vodafone tech team on the phones look after certain Vodafone products they are not there to get your imported device working and no a Vodafone store will not update your handset software

Do you have the name of the person that advised you this?

The Sonyericsson hand book will have the instructions to change the voice mail key!

Did you try a Google search on how to change this?

No idea who it was, it was a foreigner,

Allgood I assumed as much that the vodafone store wouldnt help any.

Sweet as all I use my vodafone sim for is txting/calling so its going to work fine for this purpose.

You can get the internet WAP , PXT working fine. Google has all the answers search " Vodafone wireless data portal "

Easy heres an online link to the phone set up tool of the W705 (or as called on vodafone W715), Browser Icon will still show Tworld as a result of Telecom branding.. which will not be removed through a software update :)
