Assuming that Vodafone will indeed get the new 4th-generation iPhone, will there be any subsidised hardware upgrade options available for those who own existing iPhone(s) from Vodafone?

Only if you are nearing the end of your existing contract then there might be re-sign options. Check in-store.

If you are in the last 3 months of your contract there is no resign fee (as I understand)

Also depending on the previous contract if it was 24 or 36 months and time remaining

If you are 9 months into a 24 contract I doubt it

So what contract term did you sign and how much time remaining is the main factor?

Purchased outright, probably silly since after looking at AT&T in the US they only offer the subsidised upgrade if you resign a contract.

Did you not read my post above?

So does VFNZ depending on some factors IE term left on the contract signed

Then you advise you purchased the handset outright

If you are willing to sign on a contract term they will subsidise teh handset, but if you are buying outright then nada...they want the usage revenue, not the handset sale

Personally I am going to keep my old 3G and just change to a cheaper calling plan as I found their call charges too high to warrent using the 'phone' part of the iphone.

The only reason I would upgrade is that if I didnt have to go on an iphone plan again.

I did read it, and I have no intention of using any VFNZ mobile services bar the hardware itself, let along sign any contracts now or in the future.

Thus, since I would have to have signed a contract and subsequently be on a contract at the time of upgrading, there are no upgrade options.

Thanks
