Hi There!

Is there a pay as you go service anywhere these days that doesn't have a massive setup cost?

I just occasionally would find it useful to email to txt staff information.. Low volumes, maybe 20 a month.

I thought VF had one, but the only thing I could find cost $199 to setup!

There's no service at them kind of prices directly, but you can go with resellers like Net24 who offer rebranded Message Media services for as low as $10 per month with no setup fee (and 25 messages bundled into the price, so it actually would be $10 for you!).

Vodafone had a service where you could email 6421xxxxxx@sms.vodafone.net.nz and pay 20c per message to receive it.

I believe this service may have actually been discontinued now - can anybody confirm it's current status?

I'm pretty sure it has. I don't remember being charged 20c to receive a message, however.
