I know Vodafone don't officially support it, but....

has anyone had any success getting good connections using Skype via their 3G connection?

Not so good where I am right now, but perhaps due to average 3G more than anything.

Works well on my Nokia E63; talk to friends is the US also in NZ (I've got a Skype subscription - about $8 per month for unlimited NZ landline calls).  Don't know about data usage but haven't exceeded my 100mbs/month plan (yet!).

It all depends on what codec skype is using for your call which is dependant on your connection quality.

With a good connection, Skype will use around 5mb for a 10 minute call (around .5mb for every 1 minute). So for 100mb, you could get roughly 200 minutes of talk time, maybe even more.

Yeah tried it myself, it wasn't too good and audio quality was sub-par.

The latest version of fring seems to have ads with it if that's going to annoy you.
