I would like to see if it is acceptable to Xnet to host a couple of very low traffic websites for a couple of my friends.  I currently have a static IP with Xnet and run a mail server.  I am obviously very aware of security with servers facing the internet re spam, open relays etc.  This is all small scale and having checked the Xnet conditions and previous posts on the subject I am not sure if it is ok with them and don't want to upset Xnet :)

The conditions state no HTTP servers so is that a line in the sand condition?

Cheers
Andy

You'd be way better off asking them directly.
Even if you do get a "go ahead" answer here, I don't think the "But you replied on a forum" answer would really hold much weight if they cut it off down the line.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!

The terms actually say no HTTP "where there is a possibility that spamming or any other activity detrimental to the network may occur". It's probably best to ask Xnet directly.
