Hi All,

First post here but I am a long time reader.

I am considering switching my phone net and sky from telecom to Vodafone.  I like the idea of free my sky and what works out to be another 10gig of traffic for the same money.  At the moment I get home phone (no perks) + net (FS 20gig not sure what the plan is called) and sky through telecom.  The net is really good I have never had a problem with it and ~ 1MB speeds anytime.  I game on PSN and me and the wife usually get through the 20gig easily on a range of other stuff.

My questions are:

Is the net vodafone sells in Wellington a direct on-sell from Telecom?  Meaning will it be exactly the same?  If not what can I expect? I have seen many posts about speed / issues with vodafone, but assume that is only in their own exchanges up in Auckland....

Has anyone had any experience with the free wireless router they are offering, it looks snazzy...   I currently have a lynksis one and it is worse than terrible!

Cheers

Petja

Can you get a combo package from Telstra Clear with cable TV/modem/phone, etc? From my experience that worked out a lot cheaper.

Flamingtree: I have seen many posts about speed / issues with vodafone,

I have no idea about speeds with VF, however owning the equipment in the exchange or wholesaling Telecom's is only part of the equation. As you state others complain about speed, some of them on Telecom Wholesale ISP, which seems to be due to a lack of bandwidth purchased by the ISP.

Again no idea how VF preforms on Wholesale equipment, just keep in mind while your sync speeds may be the same, actual performance may vary.

What plan are you on with Telecom now?

Cheers for the replies.

Last time I looked at telstra unless you can get cable it was more expensive than telecom, but I will give it a look.

My net is called adventure (20gig FS/FS) my Sky / phone package name escapes me, apparently they don't do it anymore.

The net package I have at the moment is really good, I have never had a problem with it. So changing over is a bit of a risk, especially if I commit to two years!

Does anyone know if VF shape or set daily caps or anything like that?
