I believe they're planning on releasing it bundled with a copy of Duke Nukem Forever.

I were clearing all my old email today and found this one they sent to me on the 22-dec-2009. I think they might have got the year Wrong? Mind you after re-reading the email they didn't actually mention a year!!!

We are thrilled with the response to our announcement and understand how keen you are to get your hands on one of these devices!

So before we take a break for Christmas, here is an update on our pending launch.

Our first, small group of internal Test Pilots will be putting the device through its paces over Christmas.

We are aiming to get a demonstration device into our Wellington store in Courtenay Place as soon as possible but this will now be January. We will advise you via email as soon as this is available to view.

A group of Beta Test Pilots will be selected in January and we will begin taking orders for HomeMedia PVR late January in preparation for a February launch. Again, we will email you as soon as we are ready to take orders.

It annoys me that I can see the stupid box when I walk past their shop, well I can see "a box" - who knows, it might be full of air...

I know there are some testers on this board, was hoping they might have had some insights.

And they have it running in their shop (unless they are just running mysky HDi, and passing it off as their tv pics?)

I had a pint the other night with a bod from Telstra Clear and I asked the very same question.

He said he wasn't sure, but thought it would be soon as he understood they've all but sorted the buggy software out.

I doubt TelstraClear is developing any software on this box. It's probably being customized by the Irish company they buy the platform from.
There may be other delays to the network upgrade rather than the box itself. Just speculating...

Apparently the pvr has now entered UAT. The dude that I spoke to today in the christchurch call centre said that they are expecting an announcement in two weeks.

Hi All

I posted a comment on Telstraclears Facebook page yesterday and recieved this reply.

I can confirm that we have initiated final phase beta-testing this week. All I can say at this moment is, watch this space.

Sounds more like a Tui Billboard to me?

A colleague of mine has had a PVR installed today as part of the beta trial, so it does indeed seem to be happening.
