Hello,

I have a client with a domain using Google Apps for their email (castletrust.co.nz)

All the MX records are setup correctly - http://www.mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=mx%3acastletrust.co.nz and Google is happily receiving mail from most senders, however mail coming via smtp4.clear.net.nz (and a few other TC mail servers) is being redirected to postmaster@scottwood.co.nz

Now, scottwood.co.nz didn't even exist until registered it last week to try and troubleshoot this problem, I am forwarding allmail@scottwood.co.nz to my personal email address.

Here's the headers of misdirected message to user@castletrust.co.nz, which was sent to postmaster@scottwood.co.nz then sent onto me.

Weird huh?

Prior to me registering scottwood.co.nz here is the bounce message the sender would receive:

Is this caused by a misconfiguration at the Clear/Paradise end?

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

What email service was used by those parties before Goggle Apps?

smtp4.clear.net.nz is on several blacklists so I would suspect that Google's mail servers are not accepting any mail or connections from that server

A decent email provider would proactively monitor their servers so they are not listed imo!

Hi There,

freitasm: What email service was used by those parties before Goggle Apps?

Just a standard POP3/SMTP setup, the IP was 60.234.41.188, they changed over a couple of months back.

Cheers

Right, but was it your own server or someone else hosting it for you? Was it TelstraClear providing the service?

Oh, right. No our own server - nothing to do with TelstraClear.

Gahhh, this driving me seriously nuts!

Only happening from TelstraClear mail servers, their support has no idea what's going on.

Well their smtp server is still blacklisted by SORBS and others.

It's quite simple really they just need to fix their config problems and then request their ip address is removed from the blacklists
