Posting for interests sake only... something weird (but good) happened at around 8am this morning, google.co.nz dropped from around 150ms ping to 20ms. I'm getting the same from google.com now too (same IP address)

PS: ignore the 3:30am dive, that's server maintenance :-)

Here's the new tracert (I'm on TelstraClear cable)

 Tracing route to google.co.nz [203.97.30.147]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  192.168.2.1
  2    11 ms     9 ms     9 ms  10.33.96.1
  3    20 ms    19 ms    14 ms  lo0.internet.ivpn.pe19.telstraclear.net [218.101.61.100]
  4    20 ms    22 ms    20 ms  203.97.30.131
  5    23 ms    21 ms    18 ms  203.97.30.147

Trace complete.

TelstraClear probably brought a new Google cache online?
