I hope I'm posting in the right place.

I'm no longer in a fixed term with Vodafone and am looking around to see who offers what to customers, new or old.

What I see on Vodafone are some nice offers for Super PrePay customers but there seems to be nothing offered for On Account (existing) customers.

I find it odd, so much so that I'm wondering if I'm looking in the right place.

Why does Vodafone offer free Twitter and Facebook to PrePay customers but not On Account customers?

I think the best thing for me is a SmartPlan (more data would be nice, currently have an add-on of 100mb/mth) where there's a current deal of additional data as a promotion.  However the downside is having to sign up for 2 years.  This plan will cost me more (I want the Best Mate).  I currently have a Choose 30 with the free Best Mate.

If I've overlooked something, I'd be happy to be pointed in the right direction.  Cheers.

Most people are on prepay with Vodafone and that's why most promotions are targeted at prepay users.

Anyway, prepay customers always get a better deal in terms of specials and promos. Been like this for many many years. A shame really since on-account customers are the most likely to stay on.

You can usually get the "join vodafone w/contract" offers too.

I updated my talk 200 plan awhile back and underestimated my usage for the new plan so a month later when I tried to switch to a higher usage plan, I "paid" $50 to break my existing contract and got a free new phone and 3 months free base fees in exchange for another 24month contract - I wasn't going anywhere anyway.

Yep, I knew I could add a Best Mate ($6/mth).  And the extra data (some of it) is a promotion which could end at any time.

Currently my existing plan costs $40 which includes my $10 add-on for 100mb of data, and a FREE best mate.

The starting price for the Smart plan is $40 (includes additional data via the promotion) and my best mate would be an additional $6/month.

I really don't understand why companies don't recognise the loyalty of long standing customers.  And surely those on and On Account plan are considered long-time customers, mostly becuase they're locked into a plan for 12-24 months.

It seems to me I'd be better of as a more casual customer, one that can come and go as I please, just shop around for the best plan and move as I wish.  There's no deterrent given you can take your number with you.

Loyalty doesn't seem to count for anything these days.

Exactly why I moved to 2degrees, and my partner for that matter, $54 a month I get 130 calling minutes, 1000 texts, 2.5GB of mobile data. granted I live in Wgtn = mobile broadband area (great on froyo that acts as wifi), 50mb national data (havent used it once yet).

And I am only on a month to month contract.  The promo vodafone was doing with 3gb was very appealing the problem is they can turn it off in another 3 months or 6 or 9 but I would still have over a year on my contract left..  If I am signing a two year contract I want something set in concrete not a "until further notice"
