Yes, read that one earlier today, and the only thing that could possibly cross my mind was a not so socially correct "WTF"?

It looks like Vodafone AU needs a reboot. A cold reboot.

Due to the  mass exodus of customers to other networks they better get their act together.

However, Network performance should improve dramatically over the next few weeks - their exodus of customers should be causing some fairly dramatic load shedding :-)

There hasn't been a mass exodus of customers. To the contary the current problems can be blamed almost entirely on VHA's aggressive customer acquisition campaign which has seen massive numbers of new customers on a network that simply couldn't cope.

"LIKE an unhappy population rising up against oppressive landlords, angry mobs of Vodafone customers are waving pitchforks and calling for justice. Or at least to be let out of a mobile phone contract".

The bad thing about the low quality newspapers we have here in New Zealand: some of the articles online are just a syndication of their Australian counterparts - mainly Stuff republishing SMH stuff, without even bothering to adapt to local reality.

You then see headlines such as

"Vodafone dealers pose as customers"
"Vodafail submits damning Vodafone report"
"I hate going to work: Vodafone dealer"
"Vodafone sacks staff over database breaches"
"Vodafone probes privacy breach"
"Customers in Vodafone legal action"

Note that none of these headlines point out these are all about Vodafone Australia, and Vodafone New Zealand is not implicated on this at all.

And then Vodafone New Zealand thinks we here at Geekzone don't like them...

Yip done. That. And your point? VHA have issues. Nobody is denying that.

Sure some may be leaving but the bulk of the people complaining can't leave because they're in term cotracts.

The reality is that their aggressive customer acquisitions have resulted in massive numbers of new customers on the VHA network, particuarly with their $49 flat rate plan, and it seems that many of their network loading issues are directly related to this.
