Hi All,

Recently signed up to Xnet fusion with Open VFX, and trying to get my grandstream GXP2000 phone working.

I haven't had issues with this VoIP phone before, because I use 2 VoIP lines via Kiwilink registered on this phone, so can easily setup SIP for Kiwilink, and it works great! (phone supports 4 lines)

When outputting debug messages from the grandstream to syslog, I see the following messages when trying to register the VFX number:

GS_LOG: [00:0b:82:0f:64:74][000][FF71][0101010E] Send SIP message: 1 To 58.28.20.150:5060

GS_LOG: [00:0b:82:0f:64:74][501][FF71][0101010E] 06 xxxxxxx SIP registration failed.  Server: 58.28.20.150

GS_LOG: [00:0b:82:0f:64:74][000][FF71][0101010E] 956 REGISTER sip:pan.wxnz.net SIP/2.0  Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 10.0.0.14:5060;branch=z9hG4bK022bcd02caa80582  From: "XXX" <sip:6xxxxxxx@pan.wxnz.net>;tag=45540c4fee8dace8  To: <sip:6xxxxxxx@pan.wxnz.net>  Contact: <sip:6xxxxxxx@10.0.0.14:5060>  Call-ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@10.0.0.14  CSeq: 10001 REGISTER  Expires: 3600  User-Agent: Grandstream GXP2000 1.1.1.14  Max-Forwards: 70  Allow: INVITE,ACK,CANCEL,BYE,NOTIFY,REFER,OPTIONS,INFO,SUBSCRIBE,UPDATE,PRACK,MESSAGE  Content-Length: 0

I have the following settings in the grandstream device:

SIP Server: pan.wxnz.net
Outbound proxy: pan.wxnz.net
SIP User ID: 6xxxxxxx
Authenticate ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Authenticate Password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Local SIP Port: 5060

The 06xxxxxxx number I have isa temp number while I wait for Xnet to port another number across.
I checked with Xnet this morning, and the port won't be happening until Feb 8, so the temp number should still work.

Anyone have any idea's based on the logs/config above?

I'll keep trying playing with the phone settings to see what I can come up with.

Mike

Contact:

It looks like the phone is telling XNET to contact it on a private subnet. You may need to enable a STUN server, such as stunserver.org.

The REGISTER message should contain your public IP address in the Contact header.

Thanks, I tried both, but still fails with:

I am using very similar settings for my 2 Kiwilink VoIP numbers, and they work fine.
Here is the REGISTER message for kiwilink that works:

We actaully see something funny going on with your registration, if you just leave it as is at present we will see if we can find the issue, at this stage we are not responding at all to your registration attempts

Thanks for that, dosn't look as though it is related to configs which is why we are looking at it with our vendor as the issue is actually a bit (lot) strange,

You will want to change your DTMF to rfc2833 btw, also if you have special feature you will have probably got a Broadsoft setting so change that as well

One more thing to try in the mean time,

SIP Server: as.wxcnz.net
OBP: 58.28.20.150

Tried that, unfortunately no difference.

Also changed DTMF and to Broadsoft setting.

I appreciate your assistance with this.

Just an update, we heard back from our vendors overnight, there is issue with the formatting of this particular register method via our SBC's, they are unsure yet what exactly but are looking at it now.

Sorry for the delay

For your ref, the issue is that Grandstream is sending an incorrect content length in the register message

User-Agent: Grandstream GXP2000 1.1.1.14 Max-Forwards: 70 Allow: INVITE,ACK,CANCEL,BYE,NOTIFY,REFER,OPTIONS,INFO,SUBSCRIBE,UPDATE,PRACK,MESSAGE
Content-Length: 0   <---------- Here is the problem the length should not be 0

Mike, your firmware on this device is very very old, the latest is 1.2.5.3, please upgrade your device as this may address the incorrect Content-Length header.
