I've been having issues with what seems (from my distant memory of Austar) to be "rain fade".

Has anyone else had issues on their cable channels?

This has been going on for 3 days now.

and another issue was my box locking on a channel last night to TV2 (in the middle of a set recording of tv3) and not being able to change until a power cycle. This is not a T-box, just a digital STB.

Edit: STB was replaced 3 weeks ago as the old one died.

We haven't had a power cut/black out in 206 days (according to my freeNAS :D)

I've seen rain fade a number of times... It was especially funny when if you are on the analogue network they are using standard Sky STB's so you get the classic blue "rain fade" message.

My suggestion is to ring up from your mobile phone and log a fault. (Ringing from your mobile will mean you won't sit on hold for hours.)

I had a similar issue. For long time on bad weather days wed suffer symptoms like rain fade and with poor signal strength that resulted in lots of pixelation.

Turned out was cable connection at lampost outside so you may have a technical issue.

Blakamin: Can you check your connection (F-Connector) in the back of your ADB Decoder? It should be tight (you shouldn't be able to undo it without a tool). Same goes for the F-Connector on the wall outlet.

Was a tad loose both ends so I tightened them. Will see how we go!

Most times it happens is on a good day!
