I purchased a Vodafone handset & sim card at a retail outlet earlier today.... After charging the phone and trying to put the sim card in it states "invalid sim" which is rather weird. Yes the sim card is in the right way i have tried someone elses sim card and it reads and works fine...... I notice the sim card is dated 3.1.2010.. Do sim cards expire? Obviously i;m taking it back on the next business day but i just wondered if it can be "made" to work through customer services....?

This topic can be removed, i have spoken to someone very helpful at Vodafone who tried a few options and it was the retailer who sold me an old expired SIM shame to them. Top marks to Voda for trying to help.

I will lock the discussion, but keep the topic so people can find in a search about expired SIM cards in retail.
