A while back I stumbled on a forum post on Geekzone about how to subscribe to [number]@sms.vodafone.net.nz - I subscribed and it worked like a charm. It was simply texting one digit to a specific sms number and away it went - 20c for each text received (don't give the address out ;) - I can't find the post now - I've done a google search for sms.vodafone.net.nz and found lots about the service - but nothing on how to subscribe. Vodafone don't advertise the availability of the service - and I've even rung up customer services in the past and they point you to a payed subscription service.

Any help on this greatly appreciated - Its working for me but my business partner may need it shortly.

i think that service is not available to new people... it still works on my account.

depending on what you're after, PM me as i might be able to help as much as i can remember... better be quick as i tend to forget things quite quickly (and i'm not kidding about this)

The service is now available as a package, this backdoor is no longer available (or Vodafone doesn't want it to be common knowledge).
