Hi,

I'm looking for mobile WIFI AP device for tables during holidays.

I saw there is R201 from Vodafone website, price seems good but I don't need bundled 2GB data.

Also I found there are some used Android 2.2+ phones capable of mobile AP features in similar price range.

Which one should I look for? Any suggestions on Android phone models for this purpose?

One disadvantage over R201 is that my current Vodafone plan (beside of my main sim) also covers some voice and lot of txts which would wasted.

Cheers

Shin

Thanks for super fast reply :)

Would it be safe to use any Android 2.2+ phones to access WIFI AP for multiple clients (eg 3 iPads for family members) ?

Or should it only supposed to connect a single client?

The mi-fi type devices are great and personally found them a bit more reliable than tethering a phone.

Which android phone are you looking at? you might want to check which category of HSDPA it supports 3.6 or 7.2

At the moment, I'm just browsing Trademe,

Gosh, there are so many Android phones...

Could anyone let me know which Android phone model is best suitable for NZ Vodafone network for capable of 7.2mbps?

I'm looking for price range <$150 for used one.

Cheers

21mbps is very tempting :)

What model of Android phone is supporting such speed?

(sound of budget blowing is coming)
