I currently have internet and 2 VFX lines with Xnet. However end of January we are moving to a Telstra Cable area and would like to make use of it. The plan is to use the TC Broadband and Freeview plan for $65.95/month (incl 40GB but no land line) and keep the 2 VFX lines with Xnet. Currently the Fritzbox is connected via LAN to a DSL modem.
I was hoping that all I need to do at the new house is to plug the Fritzbox in to the LAN of the TC cable router and (perhaps apart from changing the IP address)all works fine.
Does anyone have any experience with this setup? I thought better find out now than not being able get it sorted later.
Also is it correct that the TC issues static IP addresses by default?

No reason why it won't work. Every IP on cable is static.

That should be it. You will have to configure the static IP address provided by TelstraClear on the Fritzbox.

I don't have a Fritzbox but use a Cisco SRP 521W with two VoIP lines, the #1 being a VFX line.

Correct.

You should have no problem with your intended setup. I'm running since 3+ years a FB 7170 connected to a TCL cable modem. You just need to enter your fixed IP address and some other details like the DNS servers in the so called "Verbindungseinstellungen" and that should be it.

If needs be I could send you a screenshot of my configuration by PM, but I reckon it's rather trivial. BTW are you using the FB as a router behind a DSL modem or as a ATA behind a DSL router? Because that might have some impact on the other settings on the same page.

Thanks for that. I am using the FB as a router. A screen shot might be helpful.
