Dead here in Kilbirnie.
I thought my router had gone bonkers. The internet light was on, but there was (and still is) no connectivity.

Thank god for my N8.

FYI - I checked telstra website fault page thats was updated at 6.20pm and it reported no errors.
This gave me a bum steer as to the cause of the fault.

The fault must have been localised hot spots and was fixed by wee hours.

I lost internet connectivity in Hataitai (cable) but my neightbour two houses down still had their internet
working. (does make me wonder if they were checking data on their smartphone and not wifi to tecst their telstra connection).

Was funny in that cable tv epg worked ok and my pc said it could connect but just could not receive any info. hence I spent ages checking my router :-(

Did TC ever advise the cause of the fault?

It would be useful if they had a sms subscription service ... to advise of faults. Afterall they're a telco and could afford i.

And I had another outage this morning but in this case it was Downer working on the lines, trying to 'rebalance' things. They had heard about it but didn't know the details.
