Check out my blog - shameless plug I know, but this seems to be a topic dear to everyones hearts.

Free national calling in NZ plus a list of other countries... (including USA landline and mobile)

Anybody had issues with calls cutting out after 4 mins? I know they do to Australia and I tried a few times! Doesn't seem to affect NZ calls at all.

Just read Tony's blog and was interested but I dont have Asterisk, so I tried out FreeCall but I just was woundering (havent really used VOIP much) if any one else has noticed that the volume seems to be very poor? Is there anyway of fixing this?

I noticed that while calling Canada yesterday - it hasn't done this before :(

I use Voipbuster which is a member of the same Betmax family. NZ and Australia  free landline calls are excellent .
Mobile calls are not the best so using a Linksys SPA 3102  I send mobile calls through the normal PSTN number via World Exchange. I cant verify or send SMS calls to 027 mobiles. (OK on 021 mobiles)  Support from Betamax is nil so I dont know where the problem is. Does the SMS service work for anybody else to NZ 027 mobiles? cheers, George

I have both Voipbuster and Freecall trunks set up on my asterisk box. I find both to have an unacceptable (for normal day-to-day use) delay (500-1000ms each way), but I guess this should be expected due to them going to the US and back!

I find Voipbuster to have better audio quality than Freecall... haven't had a problem with either dropping calls...
