Just got my naked VDSL up and going, ported my phone line to 2talk and can do all the basic phone things, make and receive calls.

Anyway trying to get the star services to work, like accessing voice mail *55, infact any star code does not work, all I get is the engaged dial tone.

Anyone with any ideas on how to make this work?

My dial plan as follows as reccomended by Netcomm

111|911|789|00xxxxx.T|001xxxxxxxxxx|0061[02-9]xxxxxxxx |01xxx.T|01[08]|0110|015[013-9]|01681800xxxxxxx|017[0239]|019 [67]|0198xx|02xxxxxxxx.T|020[1278]xxxxxx|0210[03-7]xxxxx|021 [12]xxxxxx|021[3-9]xxxxx|022xxxxxxx|026[02-9]xxxxxx |027xxxxxxx|028[037]xxxxxx|029xxxxxxx|0[3469]xxxxxxx |07xxxxxxxx.T|070[03]xxxxxx|07[2-9]xxxxxx|05xxxxx.T |0508xxxxxx|08xxxxx.T|0800xxxxxx|0830xx|08321x|087[459]x |1xxx.T|12[0-8]|129x|17[459]x|19[67]|19[34589]x|[2-9]xxxxxx| *xx.T

Most Netcomm's I've played with have star codes preconfigured for their own services. You'll probably need to work out how to disable these or change them so they don't clash with the ones used by 2talk.

I made a bit of progress, I hadn't enabled the out going sip proxy as none of the outgoing calls were working, one problem down, one more problem solved

Now the problem is the ths DTMF tones arn't been passed thru.

for example, I dial *55 for voice mail, it connects and presents me with press 1 to listen to your message, press 2 for..... and so on, pressing the numbers produces no reaction......

Check the DTMF settings in your line config. They need to be sent in RFC2833 format.

Hi,

I have just today bought a Netcomm NF4V myself and wanting to get it working with 2Talk. I put in some basic settings, but no joy getting it to register so far. I am hoping you might post the settings you used rather than me reinventing the wheel. Maybe once I have got the basics working I might be able to figure out the *55 issue for you.

Thanks
Liam

The key issues I had were using the outbound sip proxy was not selected, and the dtmf relay setting.

The dial plan is the stock standard for the Cisco SPA-122

Hi Greg,

Thank you so much. The firmware on my modem is slightly different to yours so picture didn't exactly match, but those settings worked perfectly. I see you have DMTF Relay Setting as SIPInfo, which worked fine for me with dialling *55. I also tested using RFC2833 and that also worked. 2Talk's website says supposed to use RFC2833, so I have left my modem on that setting.

Thanks again - you are a genius!!

Hi Greg,

I did look on Netcomm's website for a firmware upgrade and it showed that there were none. I see that some people bought this modem from Orcon and Orcon released a firmware upgrade for modems they sold. I think I will steer clear of Orcon firmware upgrades since I purchased elsewhere and modem seems to be  working fine with current firmware.

Many thanks
Liam
