Hi,

I can place calls with 2talk Connect VOIP software client, but then I need to use dialpad during the call to select options. It doesn't seem to work, or am I doing it wrong? I just press a key on the attached dialpad, there is a beep on my side, but it isn't transmitted. Had to install X-lite where the dialpad works during call.

 Hi there

I had this problem too with the 2talk connect app when it came to checking my voicemails. When I had checked my voicemails and it tells you select what to do next it goes through all the options and at the end says press * for help or # to exit I touched hash on my phone and nothing happened. What the answer is is you need to go into the settings of the 2talk connect app and under preferences click on call and on that you will see 2 options that you can tick. The first option says Send SIP INFO DTMFs and the second option says Send RFC2833 DTMFs. If the second option is ticked then that is your problem. All you have to do is untick it and then tick Send SIP INFO DTMFs.

There are plenty of far superior softphone clients out there incl Bria.

I had this problem with a phone connected to a Netcom NF4V router. Are you using this router by chance? It turned out to be a setting in the router.

The actual fix is a DTMF issue as explained above - but I'm surprised setting it to RFC2833 doesn't fix it as this is the norm for VoIP (but I don't use 2talk). Obviously if you're not using G.711 alaw or ulaw then inband isn't going to work.
