Is it possible to connect a standard home POTS line to a computer to connect to 3CX's PABX/VOIP software?

Because, I want the tranfering tools etc that 2CX offers, but on my pOTS line.

I know nothing of the software but if it's SIP based you should be able to use an ATA or VoIP Gateway with an FXO port easily enough. The Linksys SPA3102 is a popular cost effective choice.

SPA3102 works fine.

If you go to the 3CX website they give all the details required to configure one of these.

I use 3CX with the Lynksys SPA3102 to connect our POTS line and it works great.

What's your budget?

The Snom M3's are brilliant but use a DECT base set. If you want WiFi I'd recommend the Spectralink 8002's, they are a lot more basic but offer great battery life and call quality.

Only problem with both is that you'll probably choke on your cornflakes when you see the price if you're not aware already..A FXO adapter with regular DECT cordless phones is by far the cheapest option.

The names alone sound expensive ;)

Not sure on budget really. It wont be my pocket it comes out of.

But preferably the cheapest, workable way. i found these here;
http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/en/product/F7067?id=pricespy

Not sure if these would work.. they should do though.

ATM its just in trial. Wireless (WiFi) ones would be brilliant, however, obviously with convenience comes expense :(

Basically, i just want ones that work, and dont sound like crap.

and they HAVE to be wireless of some sort, whether they have their own base or what. That is the one requirement i have.

The adapter im going to need is about $133. and those phones, (if im lucky) are about $60 each. I'd probably just get the adapter to start with, because i have my Symbian mobile phone and a couple of computers i could try it with first, instead of buying it all and finding its not going to work th way i want it.

Those phones will only work with Live Messenger and as regular DECT phones, they are also not particularly good either. They are not SIP VoIP phones so will use the FXO port on your SPA3102.

I would also be surprised if they are in stock considering they are a clearance line. They're a ~3ish yr old handset now and I've seen then for A$29 at KMart in Aussie when I was there last year when Philips cleared out all their stock.

A VoIP phone or a regular cordless phone that needs a FXO port?

The cheapest VoIP phone I'd recommend would be the Snom M3. Hence the reason I mentioned the price issue.

I have no experience with 3CX but have no issues with N95 phones connected to FreeSWITCH.
