I came across Mojocall. They offer free international calls. You just call their mobile number and are connected for free to a range of countries. What's in it for them?

They make money out of it - that's what is in it for them.

They are obviously receiving a cut of the termination rate that is received when you call their 028 number. This would exceed the cost of the international call which is how they make money.

Saying it's a "free" call is a little misleading because you have to pay for the call to the 028 number, even if it's using included minutes there is still a cost there. If you want cheap international calls from your mobile there are calling card options available on both Vodafone and Telecom that are insanely cheap (as low as around 5c per min from your mobile).

NZ to Germany, Switzerland as being the main overseas destinations.

See what these guys have to offer, http://www.cardcall.co.nz/en/Pages/default.aspx

Otherwise, checks your phone provider to see if they sell calling plans, as they can sometime be cheaper, aslong as you do not exceed your cap. Sometime the 2hour capped rates, are cheaper than the unlimited ones.

That link looks quite attractive. I'll have a look what T...com has.
Thanks
