Do any of the Voip providers have a calling card system? I have a holiday accommodation with guest phones connected to Voip but rather than have the usual system of charging for calls on check-out I would like to sell pre-paid calling cards that bypass the pin number and allow guest to make international calls.

You would be far better off building your own card system running on something like a2billing under Asterisk. At least unused money is profit for you.

Thanks sbiddle, I think for motel operators and the like that might be a good system but we would then need to check for usage every time a guest checked-out then add this to the bill or have the software to automatically work with our billing system to add these charges to the bill. Several companies do this software but we find most guests use Skype or their own cell phones so for us the extra complication of a PBX plus software wouldn't be justified.

Having worked with quite a few people on motel/hotel VoIP systems I don't really understand why you'd want to use prepaid cards. Offering reasonable priced calls with a PMS system that offers PBX integration is IMHO the best option.

We are different to most motels/hotels in that we are small and cater almost entirely to holiday guests rather than business guests so we get maybe 1 or 2  request for overseas calls each month at the moment.
We have a NZ based PMS (Seekom) that we are very happy with but it doesn't include an internet or phone package. We could add a 3rd party one but with the present volume of calls it would end up costing more in complications and $$$ than it is worth. We don't want to make money on calls but obviously cannot allow unlimited overseas calling.  At the moment we have overseas calls blocked by a pin and we can issue pins to individual guests then check the Voip account when the guest check-out but if there was a calling card system it might be worth investigating as a better system.
