Hello!

I set up our home phone with 2talk a few weeks back. Started with the free account to check it was going to work and then moved our current number over. I am using a Netcomm V300 ATA which seems to work fine for the calling part, but I cannot access the voice mail using the star codes. If I dial *55 to go to voice mail there is no response from the line.

Any help appreciated.

I just checked mine and *55 is working on my account so that would suggest issue at your set up?

Yup. As it has not worked since I set it up a couple of weeks back I figured it was my setup that was at fault.

I can still dial into voice mail from other phones etc, just not able to get there from *55

Your ATA probably uses * codes internally or the dialplan isn't configured properly.

If it does use * codes internally is there any way around this? I have not been able to find much information on configuring the V300 online.

Is the simply fix to buy an ATA that is known to work with 2talk?

Hi there I use 2talk myself and what I just did might help you. Instead of dialing *55 try dialing 028890000 from your 2talk phoneline and you should go straight to voicemail as if you had dialed *55. Well thats what happened when I tried. Other than that I go along with what Steven said about the * codes or dial plan. If you can find your dial plan see if you can add to the string |*xx| somewhere with the lines | included and then try dialing *55 or alternatively just dial the 028890000 number to check your voicemail. You wont be charged for dialing the 028 number.

Thanks for that suggestion. I could probably put the 2talk voicemail number on speed dial on the phone, then it would be one button to push to get voice mail...

Sounds like the easiest way around it to me!
