what are the big leaps forward from Pro 3 to Pro 4 that are available now, that would warrant a Pro 4 being announced in the next month or 2?

What is the Pro 3 missing?

Applying the Apple logic they could 'reinvent' the tablet by moving the USB port 3mm.

However there could be an increase in chipset, more RAM options and storage options. A move to USB-C

USB-C = a breaking change to the USB ecosystem needing dongles to make everything work

increase in chipset = Broadwell = some things are faster/some things are slower vs. Haswell so why bother. Core-M is so "bad" its like a 5 year old i7. Surface Pro is a Pro device because of its power.

more RAM/storage options = i3/64/4, i5/128/4, i5/256/8, i7/256/8, i7/512/8 = 5 options, what other ones would you go for?

To my mind, nothing, but a refresh can't hurt. Going to broadwell will help battery life and may mean a smaller battery can be used which reduces size and weight. Alternatively, keep everything the same but move to broadwell will extend the battery life. Move to usb C for cool points but keep the charging port to avoid that criticism. Move to NVMe SSD for faster disk access and better battery life. It would be fine for it to be an iterative release to update all the tech and keep it up to date. Not super exciting, but not bad either. It also can't hurt to have a hardware and software release in sync so you get the new surface pro 4 with windows 10 on launch day.

Big leaps? Hmmm.. Good point. Requires more thought.

Would not want to buy a Pro 3 today though (and yes, I'm looking), if there's a chance the Pro 4 really is just around the corner with something newer or better.

oh and;
More efficient battery. I expect at least 4 full days from a single charge!
4GHz Quad core CPU
1TB storage
32GB RAM (Minimum)

All for, at most, $1899 (NZD!)

But seriously. Jokes aside. Maybe add a USB-C port to compliment the existing port (which could be upgraded to USB 3.1)?

Maybe improved graphics for Image/Video editing? Note, I don't have a Pro 3, so maybe there's enough grunt anyway?

And, as above, more RAM options. Perhaps 16GB?

256GB or 512GB storage with 8GB RAM"

Why not 8GB Ram available on lower storage and Chips and a maximum of 16GB available?
More on board storage or at least one more USB port

the simple answer is more choice = more manufacturing/distribution complexity with even more than 5 models

16GB in a laptop/tablet/hybrid is still niche (think mobile workstation), but yes I would love 16GB in a tablet than can replace my laptop too

Turned the tablet on to update - in case there were any Tuesday Updates available. It kept asking me to allow an account to manage the device - which I have already accepted many times before (an Office 365 account).

How do I remove an account? In Mail if I swipe from right it shows the notifications. In Settings "Accounts" is just for the device accounts.

Does anyone know?
