OR

Use the latest Piriform Speccy (free) and look under "Operating System". Great freeware

(Older versions of Speccy do not play nicely with Windows 10)

I'd like to know where my Key is stored if I am on a Domain Computer with no MS Account associated?
Why does the Start Menu still show under the task bar? It's really poor.

"In the Cloud" - Microsoft will activate your copy of winders 10 after the upgrade based on your hardware.

They key you can extract appears to be a generic install key, nothing more. It's your hardware that depicts whether you will activate or not.

with anything you cannot immediately find how to do, click the start menu and start typing. for example, for updates, type 'update' or to quickly give the correct result, type windows update. ditto for other control panel settings, for example typing 'proxy' gives results for adding what looks like a global proxy setting or the connections tab for IE settings.

While a search for "update" returns an option for "View installed updates", this only includes Windows updates and not app updates (which are delivered through separate mechanisms).

No, it doesn’t, it doesn’t need to.

The recovery process on Windows 10 reconstructs the OS from the \windows\winsxs folder structure, not from a recovery image. In fact, the recovery environment doesn’t support recovery images.

Upgraded from USB to Win 10 Pro from Win 7 Pro 32-bit on HP laptop. A couple of users were (Win7) and still are (Win10) registered (with passwords). The Sign In screen lists each user by name on the bottom left hand side but now also shows an additional list of users each with the same identifier "Password" (literally) and a door-key symbol. Clicking on any of these "Password" items brings up a password entry panel identified by the same user name as in the original list. What's that about? Can the superfluous list be removed?

How do you add more wallpapers to theme in Windows 10? At the moment, changing background only allowing you to select one background, in Windows 7/8.1 you could select a bunch of them and they just rotates through them.

Edit: Ah! Instead of "Picture", "Slideshow" is what I needed...

just curious. can anyone tell me if you can immediately "roll back" to a windows 8 driver after upgrading to 10?

The OS updated everything when it upgraded. Unfortunately my computer has something special that the company no longer uses - ie their only updates are lousier than the one that came with the computer.

i'm a bit silly to wipe all the System temp files (which I presume also removed old driver versions). i do have an image of the 8.1 prior to updating to 10, but i'm not sure if i want to go thru the hassle of restoring to 8.1, reupdating to 10 just to see if it will successfully roll back to the covetted original sound DSP.
