I have a installation disk for office 2010 that a friend copied for me with the COA key on the cover.

I originally had a trial version of OFFICE 365 and then uninstalled it when the trial ran out.

My question is,  I have loaded Office 2010 using the disk and the request for COA key never came up?   There have been no messages asking for authentication.

Does anyone know why it installed without the key request?

I am running windows 8 on my laptop.

If you just want to edit one file, then perhaps instead of installing a pirated copy of Office 2010 you can extend the Office 365 or Office 2013 trial.

Next time, use Office Libre and you won't be infringing any copyrights and/or licenses.
