Morning All

Have been trying to install windows home server 2011 for the past 2 days now...at a point of just dumping the pc in the middle of the motorway or off a big cliff!

Process :

  1. Disconnect all addon hardware ( graphics cards etc etc etc )
  2. Boot from usb --- Fine
  3. Plugged in network cable
  4. Select New Installation --- Fine
  5. Then asks me to install drivers...so i download all the drivers for my motherboard onto usb.
  6. I take it that its looking for the onboard nic drivers....so browse...find....drivers are not compatible!!

error : No new devices could be found. Make sure the Driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media.. BLAH!

fastmikey: From memory, and based on where you're saying you're up to in the install process, it's definitely the disk controller drivers that it's after.

From the gigabyte site, the drivers are one of these:

AMD SATA RAID Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy) 3.3.1540.33 0.38 MB 2012/10/25 Asia China America EuropeEurope(Russia) : FTP / Http AMD SATA AHCI Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy) 1.2.001.0331 0.28 MB 2012/10/25 Asia China America EuropeEurope(Russia) : FTP / Http Marvell RAID Driver 1.1.0.6 0.43 MB 2011/08/16 Asia China America EuropeEurope(Russia) : FTP / Http Marvell AHCI Driver 1.1.0.6 0.43 MB 2011/08/16 Asia China America EuropeEurope(Russia) : FTP / Http It depends on the BIOS settings and what ports they're plugged in on.Cause it's installing from WinPE, you can put the drivers on a USB stick. Are you in Auckland? If so, I could take a look...
managed to fix the solution today. Had to remake the ISO.

Thanks for the help everyone.
