I can't find the email I spent ages sending about Vaio laptop crashing.  Anyone see it - 10 August?

Before doing a reinstall check that you have an antivirus installed and run a full scan. Also run a full anti-spyware scan.

Yes you could have hardware problems such as this - it could be overheating, or faulty HDD or faulty memory. 

In any case run the scans first before proceeding with any reinstall.
