So I have managed to upgrade an oldish Dell laptop and my newish work/dev PC with no issues. But my ASUS laptop (X751L) is causing no end of headaches. I have tried doing it using Windows Update, tried using the media creation tool, tried deleting the $WINDOWS.~BT and SoftwareDistribution\Download folders etc, but each and every time it does all the pre-processing stuff, then reboots and I see a flash of a screen showing 'Update' with a round progress bar, then it reboots again and loads Windows 8.1, telling me the upgrade failed.
Anyone got any bright ideas about how to resolve this? I have done a LOAD of reading online and can't seem to find anything directly related.
UPDATE: resolved! Firstly thanks to Timmay for steering me in the right direction. I also contacted the supplier (JustLaptops) and they had had a customer with the same issue, who had resolved it by running *diskpart clear* on the secondary HDD (after backing up the contents!). I did the same and all of a sudden the W10 flew thru with no issues.
Basically you can only have one EFI partition it seems (not that I had ever heard of this before!).
