I have a preinstalled Windows 8.1. My Laptop keeps rebooting with INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error and doesnot starts my windows. I have tried every trick in the book - such as used all advance repair option which provides in the start, chkdsk /f/r and nor the legacy support doesn't even allow to boot from a cd/dvd. I need urgent help unable to use the Laptop for last 3 months. Really fedup.

Guess what?

 

After much digging around all i had to do was switch to AHCI Mode from BIOS as suggested at http://appuals.com/best-fix-steps-to-fix-inaccessible_boot_device/

 

I am not sure why it previously worked when the IDE was selected but as soon as i changed to AHCI and rebooted it started to detect the disk.
