I have downloaded & installed iCloud for Windows and when I go to log in I keep getting “An error occurred during authentication. Please try again” After several hours of googling and trying different options, I am no further ahead. I have also tried going to iCloud.com but keep getting an error there also, “Your connection is not private”. Again, over an hour of googling and trying different things, no further ahead. I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling lots of different things. Tried 3 different browsers, no luck. At my wits end. Any ideas team?

1101:

3puttssuck:  “Your connection is not private”.

Start there.
Google that & you'll get several suggestions.
Could be as simple as setting network to 'private' rather than 'public', or something like date/time being incorrect
Try resetting internet, FF, Chrome back to defaults

If have have 3rd party AV or firewall, uninstall them : uninstall, NOT just disable . You can allways re-install later .

All sorted, thanks guys. It was a small setting in FortiClient.
