Hey guys,
I'm trying to split a Windows Server 2008 r2 system partition and data partition onto separate disks. I currently have a 1.8TB disk with 80GB for the system partition and the rest for the data partition. I'ts a bit odd as there is no system reserved partition. So I've added in an 80GB disk and tried to copy the system partition to this using EASUS bootable clone tool (free) however it won't boot, I just get a single non blinking icon. I presume there is some kind of disk UUID issue in Windows and I've tried to use recovery console in the CD to fix it but still get the same issue. Any ideas or suggestions for software?

Are you sure your boot partition is set to active? I'd use something like Paragon for something like that.

one option is to use disk2vhd to turn that system partition into a VHD, then configure your system to VHD boot.
