Hi everyone. I've got a fairly typical W7 ASUS laptop. It lets me choose the preferred power settings - when to sleep, etc, for both mains and battery power. So I've customised these - but invariably it soon changes back to a default. It's been driving me mad for a while but finally thought someone mucy know what this idiot's doing wrong. So any ideas gratefully accepted.

Usually the system automatically changes power profiles depending on whether the power cable is plugged in or not.

Is this the case for you? Or is the change completely random?

Each option (power saver, high performance, etc) has two subsets - one for mains and one for battery.

The only thing I often do not part of my old habit is hibernate the computer travelling between hospital and home three times a week.
