There are more and more awesome notebooks being announced with killer high resolution displays, I just read about a 11 inch model coming with a 2560x1440 display and can't wait for more, but Microsoft isn't really doing enough I feel to support basic users who are going to be more often than not stuck with a display where they can't read a thing.

The control panel has great features to set your Windows UI DPI with a ruler to match your display DPI, but no one seems to know about it.

I feel as though this should be built into the account set up when booting Windows for the first time - so at least they begin with a readable UI.

The windows DPI controls are not all that great, they only go one way - larger, and many apps dont work properly when they are moved off the default setting.

OEMs will modify the default as they ship their systems with the High DPI displays
