Hi Folks,
I'm using win 8.1 on a surface pro.  I have a Hyper-V virtual switch set up, but its network type is 'public' and I wish to change it to 'Private' so that it is the same as the Wifi adaptor.  Only problem is that I cannot find a menu to do this  (it is not in PC Settings, Network).

Anyone know how to do this?

Also, while investigating, I decided to create an 'External' switch in hyper-v that uses the Wifi adaptor, however, I get the following error:-

'Failed while adding virtual Ethernet Switch Connections'.

Ethernet Port '{40EF.....} Bind failed: {Out of Paper} The Printer is out of paper. 0x8000000E.

Can anyone tell me how to load the paper into the surface pro so that the Ethernet port might start working :)

what's your end goal?

run GPEDIT.MSC

Once the Local Group Policy Editor window loads, navigate on the left side of the window to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Network List Manager Policies

the error you saw above is probably because you are trying to bind 2 different Hyper-V switches to the same physical adapter

Ok thanks, I ended up deleting all switches but still get the error, cant create anything now. Only started happening in win 8.1. Will take another look at it and see if I can get it to work.

I was wondering if the issue was more to do with the wireless adaptor rather than anything else.
