I want to have more than one person simultaneously use a computer while running remote desktop feature on windows xp...or does anyone know what program I can use so I can take full control of my desktop computer using my laptop....for e.g sometimes im upstairs using my laptop and I leave the music playing on my desktop computer instead of going down stairs to adjust the volume. is there away I can just control the sound volumes from my laptap. In general what I would like to do is have full control over my desktop computer while using my laptop the remote desktop connection that we get in xp is great but what happens is it will make my desktop log out so If i wanted to control the music/downloading it wont work.

This allows a single XP machine to be used by up to 3 people simultaneously.  However, it breaks the Windows license agreement so .... may be a bad idea.

I think for your case I'd stick with Fossie's idea of using VNC.

I can also recommend logmein, I use it weekly to take control of a computer in Aussie to fix various problems, and or to assist with excel functions.

vnc won't log you out. You can sit there and watch your mouse move on the other screen.
