Hi All,

I've been using Vista Ultimate x86 for a long while now with no issues at all. I'm on a new box this week running Vista Ultimate x64 and I seem to be having a few issues with file and folder renaming being REALLY SLOW, anyone faced anything similar before. Just wondering if this is a common issue on x64 Vista or maybe something with my hardware...

Anyone got an idea?

In my case it sometimes showed slow file rename or delete operations. But th worst case is when you want to copy files... It can take forever in the "calculating time"...

Thats about the same as what happens with me. So it looks like it consistent with you too. Interesting... hopefully SP1 will reduce these issues...

This is fixed in SP1. Massive difference in speed, in fact you barely see it calculating time remaining.

So you think it's worth installing RC1 of the servicepack? It's probably best to wait I guess, i'm sure SP1 won't be far away...

Don't install it yet. You waited this long.

I wont :-) I wasn't really having any annoying issues on x86 with Vista which is why I waited this long and this is only day 3 on Vista x64, but I will wait anyway :-)

Sometimes when transfering to usb is is superquick but usually it takes about 2 mins to transfer 350mb
