As Windows XP gets harder to find (and Im stuffed if Im going to Vista for the eye candy and the luxury of having to have 1Gb of RAM just to run the OS!! :) ) Im told by 3 retailers that they are now allowed to sell OEM software without the accompanying hardware.

Great for those of us happy with Windows XP (eg Im building a Media Centre and only need XP Pro) and need a new license. From what Ive heard a lot of people are stocking up on XP Licenses ;)

Yep, absolutely Smile

We just bought 10 copies last week to hold in stock.  Generally we sell 2 or 3 a month, so it will give us an extra buffer.  And expect to buy more as the June deadline approaches.

If you're building a media center and will be using it only as a media center - vista is the way to go.

if you'll be using it as a PC / media center - stick with XP.  But don't be scared off by Vista if purely for a dedicated media center - it's a pretty bloody nice experience in Vista.
