Hi all

I have outlook 2007 and i am having a minor issue with it,

basically mail is arriving and i am not having the little mail icon appearing in the system tray IF the mail is directed to a subfolder (of the inbox) by one of my rules, the little icon does appear if the mail stays in the inbox root

my inbox is set up like this - Main inbox with subfolders for most of the mail i receive

Inbox
-Personal
-Forums stuff
-Work related

If it arrives in the inbox and is redirected to personal I get no little mail icon in the system tray
If it arrives in the inbox and is redirected to Forums I get no little mail icon in the system tray
etc

however if it arrives in the Inbox and isn't redirected I do get a mail icon

In Outlook 2003 I got a mail icon for any new piece of mail no matter where it was routed, and this is what i want


From what i have read it is impossible to do what I want, IF I use rules and folders to organise my mailbox

my understanding is that I have to create "search folders" and then it will work

Any one have suggestions??
