I am testing a new PC. I have Windows Copilot off on my main desktop and laptop but decided to give it a go here.

I wrote "Good morning" - and got the wrong date/time (just look at the time on the bottom).

I then write the correct date and time and the damn thing says I'm wrong, and that the Bing information is correct"

Nope, turned off.

I like how it just keeps digging it's toes in and denying being wrong. Again and again and again.

So, five months have passed and it still does that! I used the feedback thingy at the time, so they either don't read them or don't care.

The thing is, my example is not even a website - it's the stupid Copilot "AI" that is built into Microsoft Windows now.

People using these tools and unware they're being gaslighted is terrible.

The feedback portal isn't really useful for this stuff, but I'd actually post on their socials.

Interestingly, I Windows Key and C this morning and tried the same thing(s), got very different responses. I wonder if it's language pack specific. I then asked it time and date in Wellington and it gave the correct time.

I have deleted my Twitter account and don't use Facebook. Microsoft Feedback is also a bit useless.

Submitted to Windows Feedback, although there is no category for "Copilot" at all.

I gave up on Microsoft’s offering very quickly. Google Bard is better but chatGPT is amazing even if it is based on 2 years old data.

Related to the Feedback Hub, I've posted this one below a few months back. A few upvotes and the official response is basically "too bad we removed functionality that existed since Windows 7"

This is one the things that wasn't deprecated - it was straight out removed and not documented in the release notes.

The whole feedback system is moot because Microsoft does what Microsoft wants anyway., so excuse me if I don't spend more time submitting everything that's broken.

I don't think that's a fair assessment.  The inaccuracy has been front and centre since day one of ChatGPT, talked about in media, talked about by the creators, talked about by the users, and is documented in warnings on these services.  You can lead a horse to water, etc so on...

Documented? Yes.

Are non-tech people paying attention to that? Probably not.

Maybe.
Microsoft etc just rank your arguing with the Ai on its inaccuracies as 'engaugement'. :-)
So the system promotes ever more inaccurate and argumentative Ai models.
Ones that are precise, accurate get pruned out.
You get your answer. go away, no engagement.

Natural selection.

Oh another thought,
Seeing data on you is so valuable. What is paying the bills.
It would be better from a Microsoft, Google, Facebook etc view.
That the Ai is spending more time evaluating your responses, rather than on its response.

It seems to like to change the subject to general chat away from what you were wanting.
