Hi all, my Microsoft Outlook (the version that comes with Windows by default) has this weird bug where it won't load/sync recent emails.

If i turn my computer on in the morning for example, it only displays last synced/loaded emails from last night and none from today.

Clicking Sync does nothing.

However if i then restart my computer, then open Outlook, my recent emails start loading fine. No settings changed or anything.

This happens intermittently, maybe once every 4-5 days.

Does anyone know what may cause this or how to fix?

Thanks in advance

Who is your email provider? Is it using pop, IMAP, Hotmail/Outlook or Exchange?

I had the same issue with gmail and outlook.  I could see a new email in the gmail app on my phone, but it wouldn't come through in outlook on my laptop for up to 30 minutes after log in.  As you say, hitting the sync button did nothing.

I separately noticed that outlook wasn't picking up the correct date format from windows.  I had to go into the outlook date settings and change the date format there.  After that my email sync issues disappeared.  This could be entirely coincidental.

Interesting to know! Everything looks fine in my Outlook date settings, but I've changed the date format to display YY instead of YYYY. Let's see if that changes anything. Thanks!

Just an update and for anyone else that comes across this issue in the future.

Since changing the date format from DD/MM/YYYY to DD/MM/YY, the issue appears to be resolved. I haven't experienced any sync issues since
