recentley i have noticed my cd drives are thinkin they are hard drives if i put in a disc it comes up with the disk clean up program and now this happens on both of them and on my computer its showing hard drives instead of cd drives one being a cd re-writer and the other a dvd-rewriter any real reason?

could be a setting in the bios. try setting optimial defualts. just note down any current setting first as you may need to change them back.

i asume you are on windows xp. you could try going to the device manager right click the drives that you are having problems with and uninstall. reboot they will reinstall with any luck they will come back as optical drives good luck

16Mb (EDO RAM), K6-II processor, 2Mb of onboard graphics. 32k dial up modem. 12 speed CD ROM. 5¼-inch floppy drive. 500Mb HDD.
